I need to purchase a saw in the next month or so, and was wondering if anyone has experience with:
Portable Combination Slab and Trim from Covington in 12"
It looks like this might be great, as I would only have to buy a single saw for slabs and trim. A 12" would be able to slab about 4" rocks I think. Anyone have one and able to tell me the positives and negatives?

I ordered the 16, but haven't put it together yet. The 16 is only a few hundred more than the 12 and will do a 6" cut. Bikerrandy likes his.

I believe you are speaking of model# 1132. If so the drop in trim table is a piece of cut out Aluminum plate that you clamp in the vise and trim on. I have the 16" model (#1172) I would not trim on it unless I like oil baths and I don't. I love the saw for slabbing but trimming......no. Dave.
