I bought this as a broken slab. I thought I could get two great cabs. I cut some templates and used marker and no matter what I could think I could cut it into two with out loosing something for one of the cabs. So I decided to make it a grandee cab and leave it as one. This will go into my project; which I still haven't decided upon 100%. I have decided to use polymer clay to hold everything together. So let me know what you think; do you like it as is or should I have cut it into two. As is; It is a Brazil with orbs and druzy. I was seeing the dark areas as shell filled with water and the image of the ocean with a solar eclipse reflecting on it. Yep, its a reach, but thats how my brain works. OR I could have cut a fat oval around this image

It is really nice theway it is! I guess it all depends on what you want to do with it. If the size is no problem then you have a great single. I probably would have cut it as I see two great cabs when I look at it, but I have a box of rocks I can't make my self cut because of the same hesitations you have It is always easier when it is someone elses rock, lol. Tough call...but I sure like that 2nd scene you have marked out. It looks like a framed ocean scene, the waves crashing, fog rolling in, and the eclipse. Steve

Usually I am for keeping the slab uncut, and the pattern in the whole slab is awesome. But this time your crop is simply breathtaking! The calm sea at the midnight, with a eclypse of Moon! One of a kind is a poor statement! So this time I'd say to cut it.

I like the cropped pic also but another Idea that I am going to do with a large slab I have is do a simple wire wrap frame around the entire slab and hang it like a picture on the wall.
Just a thought and something different to do.
What ever you do, the slab is beautiful.

I would cut it right down the horizontal center and make two stunning offset teardrop cabs out of it. But hey, that's just me, it's your call.

I would likely take the scene, and then make the best of what's left. But I am a scene hound.
