I got to cabbing last Sunday but only for a few hours so I only managed to finish 5 cabs. These have the best shine of any cabs I've done. I spent way more time on the 400 belt than I have done on previous cabs. That seems to have made a big difference. I'm not sure if its just going from the 220 to 400 diamond belt or the fact that my belt may be wearing down. Either way I know where to spend more time now. These were only taken to 14,000, seemed plenty shiny at that point. Laguna Sodalite? I'm not sure of this one, I got it in a box from stonesthatrock. Maybe Ralph or Maryann can ID it for me. Lace? Got this one from Stoner, it was a preform. I changed the shape a little, had to make it my own didn't I? lol It has some pitting at the top in the matrix but I liked the contrast with the rest of the stone so I left it. Thanks Ed. Unknown. Another piece from Ed. This one was a slabette that I shaped. I love this stone whatever it is. Imperial jasper. I got this from Snowdog. Has anyone heard from him lately? This is the best shine I've gotten so far. It was glowing after 1200. I included the second picture to try and illustrate the shine. Looks like I need a haircut. ;D Thanks for looking.

WOW! Nice cabs Tony.. that Sodalite cab is fantastic.. (looks like Sodalite to me as well) I'm always impressed with your cabs... you come up with some very cool shapes and the polish is always impeccable.

Awesome!! That IS an incredible shine. That slab from Snowdog, I think, is jade. Very, very nice!

Nice job Tony. I like that red lace but it does have issues with pitting. I usually just grind it off. Nice shine of the imperial.
