I was reading the want ads this morning (something I rarely do) and saw an ad for a 20" slab saw, so I called the number and a very nice older lady answered and said her husband had passed away and she wanted to get rid of his old rock saw, I asked her how much and the answer she gave me made me almost choke, I will just say she was wanting to get rid of it in a hurry. I told her I was on my way over, she said its old and might need some work, I said no problem.
When I got there she showed me this saw that hadn't been used in about 5 years, but it still looked brand new. I called a buddy of mine to come over and help me load it up.

It had about 3/4" of petrified mud in the bottom of it, (a few more years and it would have been cabbable) a 6" putty knife and I had it cleaned out within 20 minutes.

While we were waiting for my buddy to show up to help me load it, she showed me his grinding equipment, and some belt buckles he had made. She said she would like to get rid of all of the equipment, so we worked out a price and I started loading.

Her husband was a dam engineer and when they built the Teton dam, they flooded an area that had quite a bit of Teton Jade, she had a pile of it in the back yard and she told me to pick out a few pieces to take home. She also showed me a belt buckle that her husband had made out of the Teton Jade, very nice!!

The she said she had a couple of boxes of stuff in the basement that I could just have if I wanted to carry it up the stairs, and of course I said I would carry it. 2 Totes full of rocks, jewelry, findings, garnets, polish, and a few opals.

This one has a box top with a bunch of dopped cabs in it.

I really think this was my best score so far, I was giddy as a school kid on a first date!!!
I already have the saw cleaned out and running (cutting some mahogany obsidian to clean the blade up) and she is so quiet I can not tell when she shuts off.
Just got to say it again.............WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Thanks for lookin.....................Tony
