Dang soo many good ones already thrown out there. Gonna try but I'm right-brain so creative names are usually tough; plus, my first time entering one of these contests. And I saw one that I really liked from somebody else (to remain anon until voting time comes and I'll prob vote for it). Curt with this many suggestions you might need a few elimination rounds and then a final vote or something somehow.
Now for my ideas (hope I didn't miss somebody already saying them):
Black Hole Wood Dark Side of the Moon

Navi Lonestarite is a cool name, but I hesitate to use it. The Geology professionals have asked us not to name any stone with an "ite". It tends to complicate names even more than they already are. Sorry Curt

Curt, have you counted all the names thrown in this contest? They look like being hundereds! With so many great names you should flip a coin several times to decide about the winner. And watching that cab looking like a coin, I am adding another name: QUARTER PET WOODAdrian

Shoot, I was going to do Caddo Hakkuunu' for the tribe and color of the stones but maybe Karankawa smoke? It does seem to call for an Indian theme. Fran

Fran For the one's that are interested don't know this, the Karankawa's were a subdivision of the Caddo's. The Caddo's had several subdivisions, all with different names. The Karankawa's lived on and near Galveston and along the gulf coast. It was not a large tribe and they are completely gone now. Curt

Well, glad to see my name is still kinda original. I tried to post this the other night, but the PTB decided not to let me.
I agree with the Native American thing. Plus, your rocks just SCREAMed at me. So here are my entries:
Wolf Wood
And, for those of you who watch really bad movies and saw it too,
SCREAMing Stones
Thanks, all for all the info. I've had a great time learning more about the history of our continent.
