I cut from behind where it is dry and clear. John ps - It has never been this clean again.

Mine is entirely stripped down ... just the main unit with the blade sticking up ... even the table is removed. I tried to cut this awesome stone today and it totally trashed my blade ... not a speck of diamond left, and it barely even put a nick in the stone.

WOW! Haven't seen a stone that it wouldn't cut. What was it?

Well, the blade had definately seen better days to begin with, but it was still cutting everything else I threw at it, which has been agate and jasper for the last few days.
The killer stone is one of the coolest finds from my last trip. It's a real weird ... hmmm ... agate? It looks more like an "included crystal" of sorts. Maybe a mongoloid pseudomorph? Whatever it is, it just looked at my blade and laughed, then crushed it like a DixieCup. Nothing left but a steel disk.
Any good recommendations for an INEXPENSIVE replacement blade?

They are Iron, and will not cut on a WorkForce. ;D

Hehehe I WISH I had meteorites! I DO have some stones that slightly resemble meteorites, but I know better than to try to cut them.

I'm going to be purchasing a saw from HD soon. I was there looking at them and noticed 2 workforce models for the same price. One looks like the above photo, and one has an all plastic body. Are they both similar in performance, or is one better than the other? Thanks Nate

Get the one in the pic ... but get it fast. A couple of members have recently reported that there were signs in the store saying that it's been discontinued ... all that's left is what's in stock. Another option is the Ryobi tile saw, mentioned in this thread: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=sawingb&action=display&thread=27351Although it's about $60 more, it may be worth it. It'll cut bigger stones without having to roll the stone, and will no doubt cut bigger slabs than the WF, much easier.

I want to thank everyone for the advice. After reading this and others I bought a WF, but the weather has turned bad. I will give it a workout. Been going over the stones to determine which ones I want to cut first.
Thanks for the advice and pics

Maybe I'll run over there tomorrow and check if they still have it.

I got the last one at my Home depot last night and it had been used in the store. They aren't getting any more.

I got my saw today! Last time I was there they had 7, today there were 3., so I snapped it up. Any tips or tricks on setting it up to cut some preforms?

For what it's worth, I could not find one locally. I was, however, able to order one from their website. It arrived yesterday. Shipping was around $12. Looks pretty, haven't had a chance to turn it on yet though.
