Well here it is, after 2 months of worry and doubt the cab machine arrived on Sat, will post the whole story under homemade equipment! It is a story! Well to keep it brief the machine needs some fine tuning but Tony is coming tomorrow night to help me out! I worked on this tonight, and the best thing that came from it, was when my son, who kept popping in on me, said,"Wow Mom that is shiny!!!" I don't know what this piece is, it was from Catman's have fun cabbing slabs, it was hard and took a great shine! This will be a special one!!! Might have to groove wrap it! :help: Amber My 8 year old is really taking an interest in rocks since Christmas when the cab shaper arrived and now the cab machine!!He picked out a rock he wants to work, so maybe we have another rock hound in the making!

Amber, this cab is really great! Clean curves, perfect shape, no flat spots... it looks it was love at first sight between you and that machine Adrian PS. Glad to "hear" another junior is fascinated by rocks and by cabbing! I bet you would be a good teacher for him.

Adrian: I gotta laugh because I am the worst teacher, I have zero patience. Everyone said being a mother would bring patience, it really hasn't, I am still looking for it!!! Luckily my son has gotten used to my personality! His father is the good teacher!! I just take the credit for bearing him!!! LOL!

Well I know the "full" story behind this cab and all the trials and tribulations. I have to say you did a fantastic job on this cab. Its your best preform shape yet and your curves are perfect. Great job sweetie. We will get the machine straightened out tonight then we will move on to the next item of business, getting you set up to take better pics. Can't wait to cab on your new machine. (if you let me that is) :cheesy:

"ATTA GIRL" great cab for a 1st timer and good for you for letting the boy work, alas I am afraid that your life is now over the rocks have taken control - listen to them and you will be treated well

Congrats on the new machine Amber. I see you are off to a good start. I imagine you will get a chance to make (and post) some of those red cabs you've been talking about. Also, if your son gets the desire for cabbing, all he has to do is observe and he will learn well. 8 years old may be a little young, but he will be watching you. I tried to get my 8-year old grandson to make a cab and he just wasn't mentally ready for it, so I'll give him another year or two.

I'm so happy for you and that first cab on your new machine is sweet. You had a bit of a wait but it was obviously worth it.
