Nah mossy rock you didn’t make a mistake ! Congratulation! That’s a big accomplishment! Your going to be better off in the long run. I was reading this book. “13 Things That Don’t Make Sense” The author was referencing silicon crystal growing in his chapter on homeopathic medicines. How two materials could change form or substances without altering the basic atomic structure. Or sumthang like that. He was sort of defending the dilution theory of homeopathic medicines. Well sort of! It’s a very skeptical book. Besides homeopathic medicines he also explores: Dark matter Cold fusion Free Will Placebo Effect And 7 other anomalies like the one below serious science & I swear, I see slab saw back there!

When I was growing up in the early 60s my dad worked at a Union Carbide Silicon plant. It seemed he brought home silicon runoffs all the time, they looked like silver snakes to a 8 year old kid. Years later when I was in high school I made a crystal radio out of a piece that acted as a detector. I used the broken piece of silicon and a spring froma ball point ben as a cats whisker. I wish I still had some of that silicon, but Dad and the Union Carbide plant both left in the middle 70s. This is the first piece I have seen that reminded me of that stuff that we had around the house all the time growing up.
