I've been searching locally for a used tumbler or two to help grind the rough stage and increase my volume. So far, every time I've called on equipment....too late! Yesterday, I found one tucked away on Craig's list under Reloading Equipment. $20. It needs a new belt and cleaned up. Sold! The guy was tumbling his brass shells with walnut shells. It was oily as hell, but in great working order. It cleaned up nice. Barrel doesn't leak, motor is free and smooth, shafts turn smooth after cleaning the gunk out of the bushings. I gotta find a belt now. An old but good working addition! ;D

That is a Model B Thumlers, capacity 15 lbs. They sell the same drum to Diamond Pacific for their 12 lb. tumbler so I guess you could say 12-15 lbs. They have a neat conversion kit that converts it to a double three pounder making it very versatile. Stick to the stock Thumler's belt. It will outlast anything else you can find. Part number 401, lists for $5.40 and should last 2-3 years of full time use. Order a few lid gaskets while you are at it. Tht is a weak point on that otherwise terrific model when tumbling rock. It isn't on their price list but was about $7 ea. last year. Thumler's number is (800) 225-1017. By the way, that same belt fits the Lortone but doesn't stretch as bad.

Thanks for the info John! The conversion kit sounds interesting. Cabela's has the kit for $47.99 and I happen to have a few "Cabela's Bucks" available. What do you board members think. Would purchasing that kit give me a little more versatility? I wouldn't have to wait for 12lbs of rough to finish a batch. (I have a Lortone QT12 also)

When I sold Thumler's that was my biggest seller (Model B with conversion kit). Cabella's prices are one of the reasons I dropped Thumler's. That kit lists or $70.69 now. Cabella's prices are impossible to compete with. The last time I tried to order10 tumblers they said "sorry we are working on a 500 tumbler order, you'll have to wait". I made two guesses. First, Cabllas. Second, no more Thumler's . Great product though.

That's amazing. List is $161 so Cabellas is only 8% off. Kingsley and I were both at 15% and Lock Stock and Cabellas were about $5 over cost.

My brother hooked me up with one of those barrels ...It had the conversion kit but I went and ordered a new full liner for it instead..Might just be me but it looked like more work than needed with the conversion...I ordered everything from the Rockshed ..He carries everthing for that tumbler.....John

thunder...the kit I bought, comes with a different set of rollers and two 3lb barrels. It looks like you just slide in the different rollers, plop the barrels down and go. It should be real easy to go back and forth between the 15lb and dual 3's, depending on what I need done.

I've seen those but don't know who made them. I think Scott Murray was the other manufacturer. Thumler's made everybody else's 12-15lb. drums
