Well I wanted to try working on ovals before heading off to VA Beach tomorrow, so I worked 5 of the preforms I got from Stonesthatrock! Man I loved it, no saw needed!!!!! She had some beautiful material in there and I have no idea what they are!! Any ID's appreciated!!! So this long weekend will be awesome, hanging with BikerRandy and now Frane is coming over to the coast to go rock collecting with us! Should be lots of fun! I became an aunt again today, a month early, but the little man is fine, I guess he wanted a chocolate bunny from Aunt Amber on Sunday!!! I can't wait to see him! I wish everyone a Happy Easter!!!! Amber Adrian: You will be tilting your head right and left, I couldn't get those ovals to stand straight!! LOL!!! Moss Agate- love the straight band of color on the left! Yellow Agate? Sardonyx Plumey soft thingy? This was really soft, the plume has a little druzy in it too! Total unknown? Maybe OJ? Montana?-The top is not clear, it has an almost lustre effect like a pearl, if that makes sense? Starry, Starry Night-this stuff is a bugger, sort of like Indian Paint Stone, but I still like the design. This piece was not as starry as another, but I wanted to see how it worked first!! Not scratches on the left, leftover tin oxide, it is so late and I am dead tired!!LOL!!! Enjoy!

Hey there new auntie! The yellow cab is sardonyx i.e carnelian with yellow/orange stripes and white stripes. I relly like the Montana cab, that is a very nice piece of agate, and the cabbing really made it just plain beautiful. Woody

I'm glad you didn't put cabbing aside. IMO, your perseverence has paid-off. These are some very nice looking cabs! Very well done!

Super great job on these, Amber! I don't see a single scratch anywhere! I'm so glad you didn't give up. I think my favorite is the Montana...but that's only because of my eternal love of all agates Montana. The Starry, Starry Night is a really interesting stone. I really love that one, too. Congrats on the aunt-hood, and have a wonderful time on your trip this weekend! We expect lots of pics.

My favorite is the Montana-but great job on all of them! Congratulations on becoming Aunt Amber again! I get a whole day to myself tomorrow-I'm going to be a cabbing and sawing fool! Got some stuff from Michael John to cut up, some preforms to complete-I just hope I don't poop out half-way through like I usually do!
You guys have fun this weekend! kj

Wow you are going to Randy's! Why wasn't I invited? lol Oh that's right I'm going, you know how bad my memory is. These are just fantastic. See you can do ovals. Looks like Ralph was working some top notch material there. The Montana and the moss really do it for me. One of these days 'll have to slice up the Montana's I have and share them with you.

I love them all but the moss holds a special place - I love those mossy mosses.
The stripey one looks like water marks... I had some of that - I'm actually wearing it today!
The bottom of that last one looks like picture jasper...
Great job on the shapes too

Wonderful Work Amber! The montana cab is awesome. I love the pattern on that one. Looks like you got some nice preforms from what I can see here. The moss one is my second favorite and I also like the left band color. Great batch of ovals.

Amber, I cannot believe my eyes! The hesitant lady from one week ago suffered a major transformation! The montana is nothing less than a masterpiece and the first three ones follow closely. Adrian PS. As I told you before, place those brilliant cabs into a display box and look at them every time you are down because some of your future cabs are not top notch. THIS is your potential! And this is only for the moment, can't wait to see what is to come!

Another thing!
With the laguna batch and these, I started adding Dawn dish soap to the trays, like HPD suggested, I have a small bubble batch going on , LOL!! But I think it helps, or else I just think it does! And I am being certain to dump the trays after each wheel and start with fresh water, I had a lot of scratches on these, I must have went back like 6 times to the 280 wheel, but instead of plowing through, I thought, my peeps wouldn't accept this, and I went back and took the time to fix them! It is tought becuase you want them done, but that 2nd wheel really is the workhorse, and the one that will ruin them or make them shine!

You've got it...that 2nd wheel IS the workhorse. If you take your time there, you'll be rewarded with smooth sailing through the rest of the wheels.
