Well, my friends, believe it or not this contest came to an end! Should we be  ? Should we be  ? I am , cause I'm confident that it strengthened the friendships, it created new ones and I also hope there are some other great contests to come! It was a long journey but I enjoyed it and I really hope you enjoyed it too! Firstly, may I THANK to all of you who contributed in this project, in any form. It required patience, trust, friendship and altruism. In my opinion each and every one of you deserves to be a winner but unfortunately only one of you could win that tree. And the deserving winner is... drum roll please... [glow=red,2,300] AMBER aka Bejewelme[/glow] Congratulations Amber! There were a lot of great and inspiring names in the final (and not only) so you should be proud you won having such tough competitors. Adrian, The trees are a very special creation and I thank you with all my heart.  I really do love these trees and I think they represent what we all adore about RTH, the bond we have through our shared hobby and the friendships we build through sharing ourselves. We are one big hard rock family and with all families we have our Uncle Fester's and Cousin It's, but we also have our Abe Lincoln's and Mother Teresa's (I am not referring to myself here). One of the great things about a family is we love each other despite the differences, we forgive each other no matter the subject because we are better together than we would ever be alone.I have wanted to do something special for one of our family members for a few weeks now. John, (Builtonrock), Harley (Agatemaggot) and Tony (Tonyterner) can verify this due to our conversations. Something to say thank you from all of us. To appreciate one of us who is tireless in his devotion and diligence to the members of RTH. He is almost always doing something for someone and never asks for a thing in return, nor would he ever shout his own praises. I only ask that I be allowed to visit or maybe the tree can visit me sometime in the future, or maybe it could sit atop a wedding cake belonging to Tony Terner and myself someday for a few hours. I am publicly asking Adrian to send the tree "Many Leaves Make a Tree………Like Many Friends Make a Life!" to Tony Funk (Catmandewe), for there is no one more deserving in my opinion. ;D So to all my friends  , the 22 some of you that voted for me or for my name, thank you!!! You have enabled me to do something very special for someone I really respect and that is why I really wanted to win! And what better gift for me, than the wonderful gift of so many friendships! Your kind words, surprise boxes, wealth of knowledge, etc are what keep me plugging away at this very fun and rewarding hobby. And Adrian, you and Ina will be getting big hugs and kisses in Moab!!!! This board is truly a better place because of people like you, and that is what the tree is all about. Whoever ends up with it in the end, Im sure is very deserving of your giving nature.
Thank you Adrian for your dedication and hard work. Without you none of this would have been possible.

Amber, you left me speech-less!!! That really is the cherry on the cake for this contest, I couldn't imagine an ending more special than this one! This really is the coronation of all the many noble gestures that made possible the built of those trees! And I agree with you, you could hardly find a person more deserving than Tony Catmandewe to receive your gift! Well, after this gesture, you are also among those very special and deserving people here (not that you haven't been before) so I have to ask you, are you sure you're going to give it to him? ;D Now seriously, would you really want me to send it directly to Tony? Don't you even want to see it and touch it in person and send it to him? Or are you affraid that once you have it you won't give it away any more? Adrian |

Well as I shared with you, I was debating what to do for Catman, I thought maybe contact members and have them send a cab, or a tumble and make a shadow box, and I would send it to him, but then the task of trying to contact everyone that he has touched was looking overwhelming, without posting a public thread. And I wanted it to be a surprise. So then the votes were mounting, and one evening Catman and I were talking and I was once again blown away by what a truly remarkable person he is, so I said to John, I feel like if I win that tree it has to go to Catman, and he said follow my heart.
I will let Catman decide if he wants it shipped directly to him or to me and then I will forward it to him. I would love to see it in person!!! It is so BEAUTIFUL!!!! I feel really good about sharing this win with someone who is so generous, that is what the spirit of this site is about. And let's face it, you can't send Catman rocks!!!! So I sent Christmas treats, and they took 11 days to get there, so they were frozen and stale!!!
As much as I will want to keep it, I will send it on!!!! I really had Catman on my brain with this so I think he was the one intended for this!

Amber, you are one amazing woman. Congrats.
This project and your unselfish act of sending the tree on makes us all winners and I just want to say as soon as you stated that you were sending it to Tony, all I could think of was that big beautiful window he made for the church.
Amber you did good! Thanks for the smile right now, it goes from ear to ear!
Adrian, you had an amazing vision and chose to make it become a reality. The whole process was a gift. Thank you.

I got a couple of pm's to come read this thread and I got quite a surprise!!
Amber, Thanks for the gesture, I was really quite surprised and touched.
Adrian, this has been the best contest I have ever been in so far, and I want to thank you for making it happen.
As far as I am concerned, this tree belongs to all of us.
I would be happy to be the US custodian, and anyone who wants to have the tree at their house just let me know and you can have temporary custody for say 2 to 4 weeks or so, then it can go on to someone else.
Of course, it will need its own idiot proof shipping container, as this is too valuable to be sending willy nilly across the country. I will work on building a real shock proof and crush proof shipping container, that will hopefully fit inside of a flat rate box, so we can send it around to everyone who would like a chance at being the guardian of this fine work of art.
I am proud to be a member of this forum, you guys make me proud!!!!
Anyone who wants to be on the tree list, let me know and we will start sending it around.
When it gets done making its rounds, I have a real nice display cabinet where it can be proudly displayed.
Thanks Adrian, Amber, and everyone else. I am proud to have friends like you all.

I only a know of a small portion of the things you do and for many years you have been doing great things on here! That is why I begged for votes to get this for you! You are a hard man to buy something for, so I thought this would make you happy!!! I am so glad you are thrilled! You deserve it!
