So, as mentioned in a previous thread, wolfden and I were wanting to build a rock shed. All of our rocks/equipment have seriously outgrown the current space in the house. But after serious consideration, we've realized that it would be worthwhile to wait on a shop because we dont plan on living here forever. Hmmm, but we need a dedicated rock space NOW so what are we to do? Well........we've got an old unused camper that we were going to sell... Hmmm, looks like a good space to modify for the cabbing machines A good little cubby area to modify for the trim saw Lots of storage and a sink......we could remove the tanks and set it up so that rock water could just be absorbed into the ground. Hmmm, an entire bed area that can be waterproofed and used for our MANY tumblers. All big rock and the big saws can go outside under the bed area that would normally be over the cab of the truck. Well, its portable so it could go with us when we move. And fulfills the need for an immediate dedicated space for rocks, until we can build a shop that is. We're calling it....... THE HILLBILLY ROCK SHOP ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Shan

Way to go, great idea. But think now, you can hook up and go anywhere with it when its fully operational. Hmmm,I remember as a kid, the bookmobile used to come around every so often.Thats it!!! Here comes weeshan and wolfden in their ROCKMOBILE!!! ;D ;D

Yeah, and lots of drawers for your tools, lapidary supplies and works in progress. I'll bet Randy could put some purple flames on it for ya. Jo

Hmmm... if you loaded up ALL your tumblers, rotaries and vibes, and ran them on the bed, would they make it a vibrating bed?

if you get it full of rock you may need to get a heavier duty truck if you put it on the road

OMG, hon, you have tumbled (yep!) upon the best thing ever! Way to go, girl! Just make sure you keep the bed kinda sorta useful. I hope to see you and your trailer at some rock rally thang, somewhere, sometime.

Blasphemy!!!! Campers are for camping (it's what you do when there's not enough light to rockhound). If you want to hack something up...get a motorhome ;D Avocado?? I thought that was opaque emerald Best of luck with it, Dr Joe .

LOL! Before I finished reading the sentence "Hmmm, an entire bed area that can be waterproofed and used for..." - I thought a waterproofed bed?!? Geeze Shannon you're an animal!!! LOL!!! And I mean that in a good way! :cheesy: I also think it's an awesome idea, as long as you have a truck to carry it. And remember, paint is cheap. Everything looks better flat black, which would also set off Randy's purple flames.
