I picked up 3 rough from a kid selling off his moms collection and I'm 99.9 % sure it's vistaite
It's some gorgeous material

I picked up 3 rough from a kid selling off his moms collection and I'm 99.9 % sure it's vistaite It's some gorgeous material Probably is. The exterior is ugly as all sin. Looks like garbage until you cut it open. |

I got some preforms from highplainsdrifter Dan back around that time, he did a few auctions and sales before he moved from Hillsboro to NM. Just located where I had them recently, still intact because I was afraid to ruin them back then. Some Vistaite in those. Ever find some of the batcave cab pics he shared on the forum? |

There is a site called reddit (which I can’t stand) but sometimes I browse their rockhounding page to see garbage people post 😂. Anyways… there was a guy on there with the name highplainsdrifter posting some pics of wood they found. I messaged him and asked if it was the same one from RTH. He said yes and that he’s still around. However I have my suspicions that it’s not. Mostly from the standpoint that the stuff the guy was posting and the cabs I saw, were not even close to the level of what’s been posted here. |

RRH, that is one of the most beautiful Vistaite's I've seen. Thank you. That thing is a gosh darn beauty as far as I’m concerned when it comes to vistaite. I wanted to do a different shape, but to use most of the slab and capture what I wanted, that stencil just fit perfectly. |
