The quality of the wrap itself is great, but hard to tell if it is too busy because of the rock you shot it on. If someone were to wear it against skin or another solid color, it would probably look fantastic. Against the rock, hard to tell - for me.

Your wrap is great, as always. I just hate to cover up a beautiful cab like that. Can you get it up & away from the face of the stone a bit? jo

Hmmmm, how about if I remove the cab and stick a piece of jade in it? I can do this without damaging the wire, the jade would be an exact duplicate of what's already in there and this way (being a solid color) the wire wouldn't really be hiding anything. Any thoughts on this? The idea of this particular wrap was to show off the artistic quality of the wire, but I may have used the wrong cab. lol

Five wires, well done, well done. We like the stone also. We do like your wraps. We have been painting and havn't been doing any wraps. The room is all scattered to the center, a jumble. Debby and Tom

I'ld keep the stone in that frame. The two wires coming down on the left side with the circles in opposite directions are bringing the eye to focus on a really cool elogated boot or maybe the leg of a long legged deer.
I'ld keep it just as it is. That is one great wrap.

Well you know me, Randy. It's always about the rock, and the wrap should highlight the stone, not the other way around - but again this is just personal opinion. If you want to show off the artistry of your wire-work (and it is great) do you need the stone at all? I just always thought that wire-wrapping was about displaying the stone - with the wire being an important but peripheral component to the overall piece. When the stone becomes the peripheral piece, I think we're talking an entirely different art form.
It is still art. It is still beautiful. But is it still wire-wrapping - or something else? Maybe just call it wire art - that can be accented with stones, beads, feathers, blah-blah-blah. I'm sure you could make perfectly beautiful pendants, brooches, bracelets or whatever out of just wire. Sorry, the more I type the less sense this makes. I just need to get my concrete (and possibly erroneous) definitions out of my head... and free my mind.
In any case, even if not quite to my taste, I do appreciate the craftsmanship of both the wire and the cab. Both are top notch.

Five wires! How many hands and fingers do you have, to handle all those?

At first I would've said to simplify the top, on account of it being too busy, but then I looked at the second pic again and I think it works. The bottom is so perfect with the stone.

Randy...it is just fine. I would have taken the picture on a solid background tho. Usually, I do more elaborate wraps on solid colored stones...cause...just cause. lol Anywho, there is NO rule in wraping stones! You MUST ALWAYS do what your heart tells you. One must never quench ones hearts desires...it kills something inside. As you can see...many love the piece. Some will not. It is the same with my jewelry. Sometimes I feel artsy and sometimes I don't. Therefore, my pieces reflect my hearts desires. hmmmmm....not sure I explained that very well. Anywho, I usually have a piece of jewelry that someone loves and I do too. ;D Carry on guy...fine work! (Nancy applauding)

Right now I'd be lucky to tape a rock to a spool of wire. lol....... I had a fight the other day with a table saw, the saw won. It's not too bad, 7 stitches in my thumb. It'll heal. ;D

OMG! I feel for ya! My husband almost took off 3 fingers with a table saw a few years ago. I was in the next part of the shop doin' somethin else, and heard the infamous 'ping" , and a few choice words that followed, and I "knew" what he'd done. They do heal tho, so that's good. Yeeeeah, I don't use spinning blades like that for any reason!
