The fiancee' decided after 13 years together she wanted to make it official before we move to TN. So I got off my but and finally made her a ring. (She already said yes so I think I am safe) ;D Well here it is, the stones I have been waiting on showed up today so I got to finally put it all together. The total tally a 12mm x 10mm 4.75ct. Chatham Emerald with two 4mm Yellow Sapphires (Total .66cts) I am going to give it to her on Saturday so if you hear someone screaming it might be her. This is the first time I have ever tube set a stone and the first time setting a stone that is worth more than I make in two weeks. Thanks again to Seth at Griffins Custom Opals for the great deal on the emerald. Sorry about the lint.

Beautiful ring, but I hope she's not real petite - if she is, it'll make her lean to the left when she walks! It's totally gorgeous. Congrats!

Oh, I am glad I'm not very close to your place to hurt my ears when she will say YES May your life together be as beautiful and sparkling as this ring! Adrian

Two questions: 1. What is a Chatham emerald 2. If she says no, will you consider traing the ring for a box of rocks?

You do realize that you'll have to top that for the anniversary don't you?! Great work, how about a side view? Dr Joe . Crap!! I better start saving now then. Thank you everone for the comments. I am pretty happy with the way it came out seeing this is really the first time I a ring like this nothing like jumping right in. Thinking now I should have done one blue sapphire and one yellow. ( Yellow and Blue make Green) Oh well hind sight is 20/20. At least now I slept better last night knowing the stones were set and I did not mess them up too bad. I chipped the emerald ever so slightly under one of the prongs but you cannot see it unless you use a loop so all is well. live and learn. The tube set sapphires came out great.

Oh no Amber wants an engagement ring (tap tap tap tap tap) That's the sound of my footfalls as I run away. lol Just kidding sweetie.
Fantastic design, you have such an original voice. I'm waiting on some backing material then will get right on your cabs. Still don't know what I want to do for Amber's ring though.
Good luck with the acceptance but seeing how you have been together so long and made her such a beautiful ring I can't imagine she'd say no.

No,,,, No chance of a no as she is alreay planning the "wedding" she wants to get married at a really nice park at a pavillion facing the water this Jan. We are going down tomorrow to check it all out so I plan to give it her there. No rush on the cabs when ever you get the chance.

Ahhh, so Chatham is a lab created emerald - no wonder the stone was so beautiful. Definitely the way to go with emerald, as Amber alluded to. Couldn't imagine what a natural one of that size and quality would cost - probably more than a home.
