I have been wanting to host a competition for a while, but just couldn't think of anything clever. I think I found something.... I think...and this is just my opinion...there are a lot of very smart people here. And I have learned a lot of stuff from everyone.... so let's see how smart everyone really is......LOL I like to have a challenge, so here is yours. This is a list of 20 different types of rocks....what you have to do is figure out what they ACTUALLY are, unscrambled, in order. The only clue you have is that I got ALL the names of these rocks from this site. If you get them all in order, and correct, I will send you this little box.....there may even be a couple extra goodies in there not shown. ;D So here they are. Have fun! This is done when someone gets them all right! Unscramble the words below: 1. rrssjaesepirrroipmae________________ 2. puauaetlnlgapaenbymu________________ 3. sjdiigsvpcanealri________________ 4. jsdargcieblvanui________________ 5. eerajdmappreiirsl________________ 6. daolreowdetmipifp________________ 7. peprsraaaypiompposj________________ 8. ielwawrcpseoljkre________________ 9. yresraelepamjnl________________ 10. hfsgtnlrwesoatoaje________________ 11. eujrtebcykptcurptseorai________________ 12. kueacaelmtxsplb________________ 13. ajposrlobsrmihuariskoekc________________ 14. piejdtcsreabcear________________ 15. eeptaulekrgrasaoi________________ 16. sliandbekaiofsown________________ 17. eroaoggybwrenogd________________ 18. egnsaereakaivtr________________ 19. eecinrretiatasipf________________ 20. lxmicaaceeaganet________________ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks for joinin' the fun!! well I am definite about "fierce pet intarsia" and "perilous rake agate" <grin>
seriously, I knew 5 were wrong, you say that a 6th is also wrong? .. I guess there isn't a "sierra primrose jasper", but I think there should be. ... and if I discover an agate I will call it perilous rake!

That it just too funny! Please keep in mind that by being right...they have to be spelled right.....using all letters given.
I will be away from the house for a little while this evening...I will check when I get home to see if anyone gets them all right! ;D

Marie, I tried, I really did. I even have it in word trying to figure it out. I even went through a lot of Mel's posts cause he is the guru of Identification. I even went far far back (almost a year) in some.
Of course it does not help to try to use your brain during New years celebration. LMAO.
the only thing I figured out and it is probably wrong is that 13. has the letters for obicular jasper. I couldn't figure out what kind of obicular jasper til Daniels post so maybe 13 is:
skokomish orbicular jasper?
I don't even know if there is such a thing but....

Here's my guess. I think there is a mistake in the No. 4 scramble -- it is missing a u and has an extra i. Not withstanding that, here's my try:
1. Sierra primrose jasper 2. Paul Bunyan plume agate 3. Lavic siding jasper 4. Big Sur vulcan jade 5. red imperial jasper 6. petrified palm wood 7. mariposa poppy jasper 8. willow creek jasper 9. Mary Ellen jasper 10. St Johns flower agate 11. rocky butte picture jasper 12. texas black plume 13. Skokomish orbicular jasper 14. brecciated jasper 15. lake superior agate 16. snowflake obsidian 17. gary green bog wood 18. snake river agate 19. African pietersite 20. Mexican lace agate
