Here's some of the latest pieces I've finished up. Mary Ellen Jasper Got this material from Steve (NorthShoreRocks) Morgan Hill Poppy: Got this slab from Rocklicker Steve in my X-mas box Blue Biggs bordered with Badger Pocket Sycamore Pet Wood Dendritic Opalite - The one berdered with the Purple turkish jade cracked and came apart on me when I heated for dopping. I glued it back together and finished it up after sobbing for awhile. Some cabs Morgan Hill Crazy Lace

Dang! Just when I thought I'd picked out a favorite, I scrolled down and found another cab even prettier. That last crazy lace and the two Morgan Hill pieces are just freaking awesome Dan, but you know, that composite cab with the Badger pocket wood frame is the one I just keeping going back to.....Mel

Wonderful work. Wonderful colors. I love the borders you frame so much of your work in.
The black I'm especially partial to - makes the pieces seem like they are hanging in a museum (which is where much of your work ought to hang...)
And that crazy lace couldn't have come out any better.
I give your work 10's across the board. (Just getting in the mood for the Olympics coming up.)
Thanks for posting.

Despite the beauty and the colors of the other ones, my favorite is the blue Biggs framed in siccamore.
Is that Mary Ellen jasper a sort of stromatolite?

Dan: Your work is always outstanding, but dang this batch is freaking killer. The biggs stands out, but that poppy jasper framed in black is just gorgeous, that is one of my favorite stones and it is so eye catching. Was there much difference using the wood border versus the jade? Is one material easier than the other?

Was there much difference using the wood border versus the jade? Is one material easier than the other? The wood borders were quite a bit easier to work with than the Jade. The seams do not show nearly as much and the polish is much easier. Polishing Black Jade can be tricky.
