That is not snow, it is global warming. Bush made it look like snow.

Hahahahahah........ This is what we finally got in the last storm. We had melting temps the last few days between storms. The roads melted and the snow melted down about a foot. I cleared the glass table last night so it wouldn't break under the weight of the added snow. Here's what we woke up to this morning. That was about 7 AM EST. Around that time, it turned into a heavier wet snow that is packing down the existing snow. This is what it looks like now. It's adding lots of weight to tree branches and we're watching them crack and fall in the back woods. Bill was off snow clearing duty this morning since we cleared our neighbor in the last storm, they returned the favor. This is about 2 hours after they cleared it. Just remembered this morning a couple of PA snow memories. One was packing a bowl full of snow as a kid and pouring maple syrup over it. Has anyone ever done that? The other was a snow day where my friends came over to sled and my dad tied us all up in a train behind his tractor and pulled us all over! Brings a huge smile to my face remembering that! LOL. Luckily we still have power as the snow falls. Jo

Man, I've been fortunate. The last time I was in that much snow was the blizzard of '79 in Chicago

John you are the smart one for moving out west. lol We were surprised how quickly the snow from the weekend storm consolidated before we got home. Must have been light and fluffy stuff. This snow is a real heavy one and should bring down some power lines before the blizzard winds come in.

Ab, way to rub it in! Fossilman, now we can sympathize realisticly with you northerners. Tony, I think we are still lucky to have power, but who knows what could happen any minute...

Heck I wouldn't mind loosing power, then I could go home like my boss. Living close to work is nice but its hard to leave early claiming the walking conditions are too dangerous to stay. lol

We are just about done getting snow here...We had the light and fluffy stuff that is now blowing all over the place! It is hard to tell but I think we got about 6-9 more inches of the stuff. now it is just blowing everywhere! 50 MPH wind gusts don't help either. Poor abuelito, it must really be boring there! And Fossilman, Wow, that is cold when you don't even have the snow! YIKS! Fran

Fran, you got the lucky end of this one! They say ours is going to keep up til midnight. We are back to the drier, light fluffy snow now that will pile up on top of the denser wet stuff. Here's what it looks like now, almost getting tough to tell the table from the rest of the deck. Our truck is being overtaken by snow laden Arborvitae. Getting hard to pile the snow any higher!

Hello everybody: Here in Oklahoma, where I live, we haven't had much snow, but it is cold. NatureNut, I have never tried syrup on snow. When I was a kid we made snow ice cream, I guess I am still a kid because I still like it. You people back east should try some . there is plenty of snow.

I've been digging to find underground Propane tanks. It's funny, if there is 5 feet of snow over the tank mahole, you have to dig through five feet to finally get to them! Who woulda thunk?
I've lost 15 pounds diggin'!!!!

We haven't had a big snow here in many years. I wouldn't mind one if it didn't get dangerous. When I was little we had a large blizzard leave us stuck in our house for about a week. The snow forts we made where great. It warmed up a little after the storm so playing and sledding in it was a joy.

My uncle had a large sugar bush,( New England for maple forest)and sugered off (New England for making maple syrup) every spring. I remember one year there was a lot of snow on the ground, and the men tending the big sugar pans would dip out some syrup from the bottom of the pan and drizzle it on the snow for us kids. Instant candy! They used wood to heat the syrup, probably illegal today, so there was sweet smelling smoke, and clouds of steam.........memories you never forget. Woody

Oh wow, it's really amazing how the change of seasons brings people together to create warm lasting memories. We really saw the kind hearts of neighbors as they checked on eachother and helped one another manage through this.
Snow is melting slowly now but more is in the forecast. How much, I'm not sure. Jo

The little kid in me says I would love to be there as long as I didn't have a care in the world. I'd love to be enjoying that kind of weather. Realistically speaking I'm sure it must be very hard. Thanks for thos pics NatureNut.
