My other totally engrossing hobby, other than rocks and jewelry, is digital art. I take photographs and create paintings, drawings and other forms of art from them. Thought I'd share a few here, get your opinions... I call this The Electric Lizard One of my favorite subjects, aircraft - Pretty A4 pen and ink drawing This one is titled Too Fast And this one is Too Close My favorite aircraft the F4U - this is felt tip over a line drawing My daughter's therapist is a semi-pro dancer, this is her and her partner And her as a young girl - original was b&w And my favorite, Miss North Carolina let me do some pictures for her

I posted these here for all to see, but also if you have any photos you'd like to see turned into a painting, let me know and I'll generate some artwork for you. For members of this board it's for free. I can tell you how to print them out to make them look just like a painting, or for my cost plus mailing I can do that for you. I'll post a couple of jobs that I've done to save older photographs. Had my friends scan in the originals and email to me, then I fixed them up. Below is one of my favorites, an old girlfriend from high school (well, not any older than me! lol) her father passed away two years ago and I am painting his photograph from b&w to high saturation color. So far it's terrific and I only have a couple items left to paint (ribbon and medal around his neck and brass on hat and jacket). Original - enlarged somewhat to make the transfer easier: So far, youthanized and bronzed up a bit, added color to cheeks in outline where mask would be (pilot), she started crying when she saw this as she said he looked so alive in it... got eye and hair color perfect somehow... So if you're interested, just drop me a note! I love doing this stuff.

How talented you are! I like the lizard blending into the background. What a huge amount of work to color those b/w old pictures! And the tones of the face are so natural. I think I'd send you a very interesting photo which I would like to see enhanced. Adrian PS. Here's the picture I was talking about: the Delicate Arch pictured through another arch in Arches Park, 2009. Besides the scenery, I also find interesting the two portraits which appear in this picture. One of them is pretty obvious if you follow the inner contour of the close arch and its shadow in the low left corner. The distant delicate arch complete the eye for this portrait. The second one is more subtle, in the bottom left corner of the picture: the shades on the rocks outline the chin, the mouth and the nose of a man (looks like an Indian chief). Can anyone see them?

Wow! I'm really impressed! Thank you. I thought you'd need a higher res pic to play with. Would you like me to send it to you? My favorites are the first one and the third one. The first one would had been my clearly favorite, but the indian's face was lost there.
