All these pics were taken at Jim Grey's Petrified wood co. in Holbrook Az. Enjoy A few geodes in the 4" to 8" range. All are very solid  From a different angle  Other pics from his yard area- Banded Rhyolite  Green quartz   cut picture sandstone  about a ton of slag glass in 3/4" to 2" pieces  I like the pink color of this piece. I think the pink color is caused by manganese. I have a few pieces of pink but it's kind of scarce.  This piece is 2' x 7' and is just spectacular. It has a five figure price tag.  |

My goodness Gary, I am assuming he sells all these rocks, geodes and slabs. That would have to be a great place to look around. Did you take home some of those geodes?

Wow that's a lot of rock but id they're solid, they're nodules not geodes. Has to be hollow to be a geode.....Mel

Been there! Amazing place, it's like a rock supermarket. I took two geodes from that pile. Thanks for refreshing the memories.

Mel I agree. That is what the shop is selling them as though. The second pic has the sign laying down and you can barely make out geodes $2.00 a Lb. The yard guy said that a few were hollow...

I have been to rock shops all over the U.S. and that one is by far my fav. of them all his logs are incredible.George
