I am going to have a load of fun with this as soon as I can stand the temps in the garage. Supposed to warm up this weekend so you know what my plans are! Roller, it is a 10 inch blade. I think that is all I will need Seems most of the rocks I want to cut are in that range so it should be perfect for me! Fran

What a great gift! Way to go, David! Fran, I'm so glad you have that. You sure do cut a lot of beautiful slabs, hopefully this will make it easier.

I hate to admit this but I still haven't used my saw! Just put Christmas away, trying to clean the house because I am having a party for my husband's 50th birthday here next weekend. Sure takes up all of my time. I finally had enough with cleaning and planted myself here to try and catch up! Now I keep saying, maybe next Sunday when the party is over....I did get some mineral oil to use in it so I am set when I get some time! Fran

Fran, put oil in it, put a rock in it. Turn it on and it will work and you can leave and it will shut off all by itself. You don't even have to be there. Just adjust the shut off first before you move the rock over to be cut. Now you can work while it works. Ken

Congrats, You know you got a great guy when he buys you a slab saw for Christmas instead of jewelry or something romantic. You must be a practical girl like me.
You should post a picture after your first slab. Just so we can see.
I remember the first time I cleaned my 14" saw. I drained the oil and then used a whole roll of paper towels to get it really clean again. Now I just drain the oil and use a squeegee to scrape out the rest. Then put new oil in while the old filters for a couple weeks.
I realized there was no point in trying to get it perfectly clean again. Just gonna get it dirty right away. LOL

Hahaha, Lowell, you are a crack up and I just might do that! Parties are done, big conferences are done and even though it will be cold this coming weekend with snow predicted, I am going to go out in that garage with my space heater and get some cutting done! I just can't wait any longer! I will post as soon as I get some things done. (Side note: We had the birthday party Saturday for my husband with a Hawaii 50 theme since he is 50. I had all the bottles of mineral oil sitting in my laundry room on top of my dryer. one of our guests said it was odd to have so much of that, pointing to the bottles...I said my saw has a bowel problem. He gave me a strange look before I explained). Fran

*LOL* I think you'll love your ten inch saw "IF YOU EVER FREAKING USE IT!!!!!" *LOL*. I'm with you, most rocks you want to slab fit that sized saw and the smaller saws, in my book, are just way more reliable, cheaper and easier to use that the big ones.....Mel

OK, I have the mineral oil in the saw, It is sitting there in the garage and the weather report says it will be 9 degrees tonight and a high of 24 tomorrow...I am taking my space heater out there and cranking that baby up! I just can't wait till it gets warmer because I am wondering if it ever will! Fran

Fran, we expect pics of a dirty saw tomorrow. 24 degrees is practically tee shirt weather. Got above zero today, for the first time in a week. Don
