about 165,000 there is a set point to adjust the backlash of the timing chain. the next adjustment is a new chain. or motor.
A 1967 190 DL inline 6 cylinder, drove from Eugene,Oregon to Portland 5 days a week, the car had over one million miles on the original motor Mercedes ask to look over the motor for wear points and install`ed a new motor in the car. Have`t herd about the car since.

We've never had the the timing change adjusted or the motor replaced. We have the same car, as he does, one year older. More miles, too.
Only major work we had to have done was strut replacement.
