I took these two to the 3000. After looking closer, I think I will take them to the 14000 for an even better shine. bloodstone Agate and Purple Burro Creek. I have earrings cut for both of these but I just can't find them to finish right now. Thanks for looking. Fran

Two beauties there Fran. The bloodstone is a nice piece and the burro is so purpley.

Beautiful, Fran! You really have mastered this work. Curious..have you tried Tin or Cerium on leather, or canvas? Or just all diamond? T

Already looking good, you'll need welding googles after 14000 Adrian

Those shapes are perfect Fran! The shine is really good too. I see I need to work on my technique, because at 3000 mine are still dull.

Thank you everyone! Tony W; So far, I have only gone up to 50,000 with diamond paste on canvas. I have tin, aluminum and cerium polish along with green rouge but I just haven't gotten the extra cushioned pads to try them out yet. Nate; Someone on this forum once told me that when you think you are done on a grit, go a little longer to really be done. It is the hardest thing I do but when I do slow down and listen to myself, I get much better results and almost always a good shine on the 3000. I continue lightening up the pressure slowly when I am cabbing at the end of each grit also, so I don't develope new areas that need more work. Thank you again and I hope to get these finished this weekend. Fran

Great shine for a 3000! Excellent material also. I love the purple Burro (I have some Burro Creek that needs cutting- not much in the purple class but still fun stuff to play with) When I first started cabbing I worked with all the "oxides" and NEVER got great results. I switched to diamond for the finishing stages and will NEVER GO BACK!! Matter of fact when I save up the money I'm replacing all my belts with diamond.
