Sounds like you are talking tile saw slabbetts and not slabs. Also sound like you plen to polish flats in a tumbler. Size and type of tumbler matters. You need to explain more what size rock you have, and what you want to end up with. All of the advice you got initially assumed regular slabs on a slab saw. It may not apply. You are correct -- slabettes would be a better description. I have a Lortone 33B. Just recall you can't go much over 1" in a 33b, and there always has to be a range of sizes, and it cannot be all flats - need some round bits to keep flats apart. this might result in stones a bit small for wrapping.
you may need to cut some of the slabbets into quarter sized pieces.
