what would I need to get to put a 6" diamond blade on the left side of the shaft if I have it 1/4"-20 center drilled?

Don't ! That 1/4 - 20 screw isn't big enough to handle the blade.

Well that end is going to be threaded so all I need to do is find some sort of 3/4" threaded hub or maybe just put the blade directly on the shaft. Thats pretty much the last thing I need to figure out I should have everything and the machine built in the next week...CROSSES FINGERS

If there's enough thread showing on the left end of your shaft, get a blade with 3/4" center hole, 2 flange washers and another left hand thread nut. Put the blade directly on the shaft. It will be stronger and safer than using some sort of adapter.

Well I decided to use 13"x9" cake pans for the pans and acually looks pretty nice and I have a sheet of aluminum that I am going to use for the hood. I havent figured out how to build the frame yet without being able to weld but I am working on it. I have a 1/2"x72" square tubing I want to use any ideas how I can acually put it together? Only option I can think of is to use some angle iron to bolt everything together but with the vibration I would expect nuts and bolts to wiggle loose. The base is complete I used 3/4" plywood used a waterproofing staine then put a few coats of spary on bedliner LOL That thing is so waterproof its crazy. The cake pans will be a perfect fit for the setup I have and they are fairly thick and sturdy. I just got me a used 1725 rpm 1/2hp Leeson farm duty motor for $60+shipping already has the pulley and power cord. I will get some pics of the machine when I am done for all to see. Now if Kev would get back with me and let me know if he will make the shaft I will be soooooo happy...LMAO Attachments:

fine looking Motor, i use the same in 1-Hp, on my 24" Fran-tom saw.
Smart thinking using the cake pans.
The 1/2 pans used in industrial i was considering using one for a trim saw pan.
Sounds like your cabbing unit, Well be Millwright Grade.
Looking forward to the muddy pan look.

OK now that I have everything ordered or incomming exept the polishing disc I have a question. www.gravescompany.com/beltsand.htmThey have on the site a quick disc which has the 1/4"-20 base but I am trying to figure out how its gonna work. They have leather and felt discs I am guessing they attach to the quick disc or do they have thier own base with 1/4"20 It doesnt say on the website so thought one of you guys may know.

Since you're building on a limited budget, I'd suggest you look at the disks and pads in the Kingsley North catalog. When you buy directly from a manufacturer like Graves, you usually end up paying more. You'd be best to have Different disks for each polish you plan to use, and store them in zip lock bags when not in use.

"Used as a backing disc for various polishing and sanding pads"
You spin it on the shaft and use 3M feathering adhesive to attach different grinding/polishing discs, which will peel off for changing.

You can buy the Quick Discs (also called Spin Discs) with either just the foam or with leather, canvas or felt. If you buy the plain ones buy 3M Feathering Disc Adhesive to glue on the discs. Leather is most economical and performs better than canvas for most polish. Canvas works well for diamond compound. Felt works very well for many polish compounds but costs more.

Well I am hoping to have everything in and can finish making my machine over the weekend. I guess I will be able to shape the stones but I will have to wait till next week to get the polishing equipment and material so no polishing for a little while...:-(
