At first I thought you were going to give a psychiatric ink blot test cause the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pic look like......Well never mind It is a beautiful way to show off the plume, patterns and bandings. Are you fiddling with the white balance? What ever you are doing to get the effect, it is really neat.

Very nice pics. It is amazing to see what can be done with digital photography. Any chance you can explain the technique you used to produce such beautiful results?

Dino Bone Sampson I like to push buttons in Adobe Photoshop to see what happens. This is done by using a tool called the Magic Wand. Click the Magic Wand on a rock and it will highlight certain areas. Drag the selection to a new file and......presto! Curt

Thanks for the explanation Curt. It is amazing what photoshop can do and i am sure if i just started experimenting to try to get shots like that it would take me days of tinkering to come up with comparable images .......and probably use some other much more convoluted and complicated method than your simple and effective technique.
