Unfortunately, I'm in SoCal. It sounds like it would be fun, though. You're close enough in Santa Rosa that you could probably do that, though? If you go, let us know if you snagged anything interesting!

Yeah, it's a 2 hour drive. I am going with someone with a big truck. Tony, I can imagine if you showed up you would find a way to load the whole pile ;D
I'll be there tomorrow in my green RTH shirt if anyone else is coming. If it's good stuff I'll try and get some extra for anyone who can't make it or lives too far away. Steve

I'm in Rocklin right now and I'm interested in going. What time does the sale start tomorrow? I can't buy "big truck" loads because I have to fly out on an airplane, so my luggage has to keep to a certain weight. Do you think they will sell small quantities or do they just need to move MASS?
I brought disposable clothing, and I am allowed two free checked bags, 50 pounds each, so that's the MOST I can buy. I would prefer to buy just a few special things to help out the fund because I have too many cool rocks already. :-) But who can resist a good sale?

Peachfront, there's always flat rate boxes. I know a lot of people who have sent boxes to themselves and saved the overweight or baggage fees. Just a thought. Gee that looks like a great sale too bad I'm a bit far away too. Happy shopping to those who can make it.

I was going to say the same thing as Diane! Those flat rate boxes are awesome. You wouldn't have to worry about lugging around anything at the airport. Just fill up the box or boxes & ship it priority mail flat rate with delivery confirmation. Awesome way to buy & ship your rocks!!!!!!

Nah, I'm gonna go with being super-cheap and just lug the rocks to the airport. The post office already gets too much of my money.

Peachfront, once I sent myself 19 FRB's from a trip! It's easy. Think of it this way... Even if you can pack 30 pounds into a FRB that's $3.00 for rocks and $11.00 for shipping. That comes out to just undef 50 cents a pound to your door. It starts at 9:00. I'll be in a RTH shirt bent over a pile of rocks hopefully Steve

It was great to meet you folks! I told myself I would only buy 50 pounds, but I bought an extra pound...it was just too nifty. I'm going to make up a set of display Thundereggs for a friend who doesn't have any in his collection. Plus, I'm going to polish up a few for my own collection, hee hee. Nice weather for this event.

It was nice to meet you too! And extra pound.... thats not good! :nono: I ended up with about 140 pounds. Thats alot less then what I had planed on spending. I had about $24 with me, and at one point I was worried I was going to break the bank ! But now at home it looks like a pittyful amount of rocks ;D ! Thank you both for helping me name some types, and get some good stuff! I think I should have bought as much as I can and resell some things to buy a saw! Just need to get online and buy some grit! ~Colt Chainmail
