Hey folks! Had to work up in Flagstaff last week (nice and cool up there). Finished up Thursday, picked up my son and headed to a spot east of Holbrook for a couple days camping/hounding trip. My neighbor has 45 acres with a trailer up there and gave me the keys and permission to rock hound. It was a blast and quality time with my kid. Here's the view across the property.

Quite a hike down in the clay formations, but lots of neat wood weathering out everywhere

My boy Rob sure had a great time

Made it across the canyon to booby mountain

We both packed out around 50 pounds or so a piece, and man it was a tough climb out! Here's a couple sun set shots.

We broke camp Saturday morning and headed to a spot near Woodruff to hunt some rainbow wood. Here's a couple nice pieces Rob found there

Happy kid ;D Oh and here's a neat old plate I found out in the high desert there

I'll save the finds for a second post, hope you enjoyed the pix.. it sure was a fun trip!!

Curt I agree, they don't make trailers like that any more. It's a 1948. Funny thing the license plate I found is 1949.. and no I didn't cop it off the trailer.. heh!

Brian, It's great that you and your son got to spend that time doing what you both love. His handsome face with the rainbow wood shows he loves it as well.
