Howdy folks, Well, after a five months wait, I finally got my new boots I bought with my rock auction money ( thanks again to those of you who bid). They're Lucchese 1883's in sort of a trail worn buffalo hide and oh my are they comfortable. Chose this particular color pattern so they would go with more colors of cowboy outfits. And of course, I had to have wingtips cause I flat love wingtips *L*....Mel

Man Mel, thems too purdy to be stomping around in. Better frame those things and hang them on the wall.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. My wife kinda ain't quite excited by my boot addiction *L*.
Toad: Wingtips are those leather overlays ( usually in another color) on the tips of the boots that are kinda winglike and can be very ornate on some cowboy boots. I love em but they can make your boots kind of difficult to clean and condition cause you got to take care around the overlays. On this pair the brown parts are overlays and the white, inlays.. Luchesse does some fine work and well worth the wait..Mel

Thanks for the kind comments guys. My wife kinda ain't quite excited by my boot addiction *L*. ..Mel Sorry, but when you said that I couldn't help reminding this joke: A man is coming home with some new boots which he was very proud of. He shows them to the wife, which was quite in the mood and invites him in the bedroom. While taking off his clothes, he kept saying, "Look at those beautiful boots!". Finally after undressing his pants, he said "Wow, these boots are so beautiful that even my "best friend" is looking down admiring them, see darling?" She answers: "Heck, I wish you were hats addicted!" ;D So go buy a matching hat, maybe this will make Mrs Sabre more happy Adrian

Adrian, Being somewhat impaired head hair wise ( bald) *L* I got to have the hats to keep my brain from being fried. Cowboy without the hat. Heck, hat is like the first thang you put on and the last thang you take off *L*......Mel

Ever heard the story about Roy Rogers' new boots? If you haven't, here you go:
Roy Rogers buys a new pair of boots, which he loved every bit as much as Mel with his new boots.
Being a gentleman and not wanting to tick off his wife Dale by bringing his dirty boots in the house, he took them off and left them on the front porch at night.
One morning, he wakes up to hear purring and slobbering. He looks out the front door and there is a mountain lion licking and biting his boots.
Roy grabs his gun, jumps on Trigger, and chases the mountain lion into the hills.
Later that evening, he rides into the yard in front of the house with the mountain lion draped across Trigger.
Dale sees him and asks, "Pardon me, Roy, is that the cat who chewed your new shoes?"
I can hear your boos from here. Chuck

*LOL* Good one Chuck. Kind of like the Arizona Native American who's two sons got scholarships to a fancy east coast college. The sons asked, " Father, what should we study in college?" Father replied he really didn't care as long as they both took sailing class. Because..... He'd always wanted to have red sons in the sail set.....Mel
