Thank You all, I have learned not to cut large chunks of this with a slotted blade, the material will fall apart and fracture, after changing the blade to a smooth one it cut much better, I was told not to shape with diamond but to use a 220 Silicone Carbide belt, a clean one. While shapping you need to use a lot of water to keep this material cool, if not it will grab, burn, chip, crack and fracture. If you buy large chunks, try to buy from the bottom of the boules, the top has a lot of air bubbles. I leaned the hard way, but after words, for me, it was well worth it, as you can see. Absolutely stunning look and workmanship. Some people say that this stone is man-made others claim it's not. Which one is true?

It was man made and made by one man, but he used all natural material, when cutting it has it's own smell, almost a garlicy smell.

It is man-made but the recipie died with the creator of the stone. He never wrote it down or told anybody and although many have tried, nobody has been able to come close to it.

That is a beautiful man made material and you had it behave admirably for you and each cab is a treasure! It is too bad the creator kept the secret with him. I am glad you gave your cutting and cabbing tips as well. I do not have any of this material but if I did, that would really help! Fran
