Hi everyone, I recently made two pendants. Each one is a present for some special person and occasion. Firstly, a hematite jasper. I have the pre-form from Jamie. I made it for my mother in law, as my in-laws recently celebrated their golden wedding. And the 2nd one is an Ethiopian opal. I bought this stone from Munchen (mineralientage) and made this pendant for Ina. It's a present for her birthday. I added a very thin layer of Lapis on the back of the cab, to "help" the blue flashes in the opal. Here she is, proudly wearing it: Happy birthday, darling! Thank you for looking, Adrian

Very well done. I love the shape of the jasper and how the colors show with the silver. Jason

Awesome cabs. I had a mother-in-law that I liked once and will never forget her. Also, I think you may have identified one of my stones. Do you think that they are about the same? Jim

Thank you everyone, for the nice words and also for the birthday wishes to Ina!
Jim, the rock you posted might also be jasper and hematite, but the best way to figure out whether it's hematite or not is by grinding it a bit on the cabbing machine: the water might turn red if it's hematite.
