Looks like Falls City palm/vine. Killer piece. You can also find stuff like this in the Three Rivers / George West areas, but if I had to bet on it, I'd say Falls City.

Yep, monocot wood of some kind, almost surely a palm type, but man its frustrating trying to ID all these tropical woods from Texas. Lots look exactly like palm but with smaller vascular bundles so I'm thinking many are unnamed types of palm and not the usual Palmoxylon we're used to. Might also be Palmoxylon but from further up the stalk from the base so the bundles are smaller.....Mel
