The hardness of the green is in the range of epidote which is 6 to 7 but the SG is to light at 3.13 where epidote is 3.3 to 3.6. I am not sure either way. This piece seems to polish better than naphrite and I was quite surprised about that. I guess I should send some of it to someone and get a positive ID but I do not know who to send it to. John - Did I send any of the green stone in the box? If I did not maybe I can send a piece and you can show it to the rockologist. I have so damn much different rocks and minerals here that I do not think I will ever ID half of it. lol It would be nice if I live that long. KK - Would you like me to send a sandwich. lol It would not be near as good as the Chinese food there but it would be better than a rock. lol Chuck - A lot of what I find here has the yellow but not the red. All of the yellow and black is layered and the pieces that have the red it looks like the red has filled fractures. I could send a piece to you if you are interested. It is a very interesting stone but I have not found a way to turn it into jewelry. Jim
