Since I'm unemployed, I have been slabbing like crazy. I've cut more slabs in the first 2 months of this year than all of last year. I use Lube Cool as a coolant and I basically wore out my new 10" 303C blade in 2 months. Tired using RV antifreeze but where ever you dump it, it will stay muddy because it won't evaporate and behaves like automotive antifreeze. Plus the slabs were coming off warm to the touch. You could see saw marks with anti freeze but when using Lube Cook, smooth as silk. The anti freeze would mist like crazy and fog up the inside of the plastic hood where you couldn't see what's going on inside. After all, they use this product for fog machines in Hollywood.
Purchased a 303P porcelain blade from John to see how it holds up. Was looking into the MK Hot Dog & DeWalt porcelain blades but John's price was in line with the BD. First the diamond matrix is 50% taller than the 303C and is .060" wide. It cuts hard jasp-ag like crazy but have one complaint so far. It's noisy. My neighbor raised an eye brow this morning. Think I'll have to finish installing insulation in my storage shed and do my sawing inside instead of my patio. Doesn't need frequent sharpening like the 303C.
But if I had to do it all over again, think I'd stick with the BD 303C but I'd like to try the thicker .050" wide one. Even if it wears faster than the 303P, still can't beat the cost and over all performance. I abuse the heck out of this blade.
