I found the cheapest price here for mineral oil at the grocery store in the pharmacy area. It`s sold in pints there for $1.48. At the Walgreens it is $4.99. So at grocery store it was $12 a gallon. Just had to wipe the shelves off at 2 locations of the store. But it works great on my 14" saw. Slow cuts are smooth, polish easier and will allow the blade to last much longer too.

at our lapidary class we put the oily recently cut pieces into kitty litter. This absorbs the oil. We then go directly from a dry post kitty litter stone to whatever water cutting we do next.

You can get oil dry at any auto parts store or farm supply store. I buy it in 40 lb bags at Tractor Supply.
