No I didn't Dee:). She has been super busy with her new nursing job, and the last time I talked to her about the rocks, she said she would try, but had no time.
I'll pm you her phone #, maybe you can go hounding with her? She's NOT a rockhound, just likes rocks, so I'm not sure she knows what to look for. If YOU know, go up there and talk to her?

If nothing else, I can definitely know what rock is good for cabs! And I can post pics here to identify them by our marvelously knowledgeable members. I finish up the school year June 8th, and then I have a window of 10 days before I help my bf pick up his things in New Mexico (alas, no time for rockhounding at all, sadly.) If your friend is free then, and wants to surface hound around and show me what she has, it'll be fun! ~Dee

... if you come to California, Placerville is in lovely country, and that town and others are all quite charming and of historical value.

Dee, I pm'd you her #, she'd love to talk to you:).
Seeing as how you gals are both in California, when I do get around to visiting her, I'm thinking next spring, possibly this fall, we can maybe all hook up and go hounding in Placerville?

Helen, that would be FUN! I emailed her, but will call her tomorrow...CA seems to be mostly full of granite and obsidian, but not much else to me, not like OR, TX or AZ! Anyhoo, Spring or this Fall sounds like a plan!

Dee, she was all excited to talk to you about the rocks, and I think this may inspire her to start rock hounding, to have someone to go with:).
She told me a story last nite that was pretty wild!! She was at the doctor's office and overheard a woman having a convo with another woman about how her son overnight became a millionaire. He struck gold in his mine, a whole vein, and is hauling it out hand over fist. If she didn't tell you that story, ask her about it... there's STILL gold there!!! O.o
Then she told me about the snake boots, because you will have to wade through acres of tall grasses where rattlers live to get to the creek... there's got to be great rocks in the creek, sounds like a whole lot of trouble getting to it:P.

To hell with the rocks, go for the gold. I have a sluice box to look for gold too. I wonder if she would go halfsies. lol I suppose there is not a snowflake chance in Placerville that she is single and looking for a rock head in more ways than one, My brain has to be hardening up by now. LMAO Jim
