Ok, I've been meaning to do this for a while, just haven't had time with all the discussions going on:P.
Did a trade with Tony, and he sent me some over the top slabs that are well worth looking at (because he's got more of it for sale I'm sure, the man's got rocks coming out of his ears:P).
NOT ONLY did he send the slabs, he sent them individually labeled!!!
Tony's chrysophrase (not cutting this! Waay too pretty, with little crystals in the holes! I think he knew that, he sent me a little cab sized piece too). I think he's got the prettiest chrysoprase I've ever seen sold anywhere. This stuff is almost flourescent!
Tony sent me this Australian mookaite... a small part broke off in shipping, but that's ok, because I can cab that... the piece is an astounding 12" long x 5" wide!! O.O
Incredible Biggs Jasper... details, and as you can see... BIGG (I do NOT have a small hand- nearly 7" long, and almost 3" wide, that's a big piece):
A whole bruneau nodule with face polished (if you want one, better get it now, because Tony said the mining claim for that whole area just went from $2K to $140K a year... so this will get scarce):
A big coprolite (Tony jokes about polishing turds... but look at the colors in the turds - small wonder people want to polish them:P):
Huge Rocky Butte Slab (yes, it's true color!). Just beautiful!:
Sumatra Flame Agate (Roy's post reminded me to post this... they are absolutely beautiful with the fan-shaped plumes everywhere you look):
Noreena Jasper (not blue, but almost - this color is true) - the amazing part of this stuff is that the blue/grey is TRANSLUCENT (see my finger through it? It's a fairly thick slab too). The lines are fine, like a thorn branch, and if you look... there's a HILL in that slab too! No wonder Randy's in love with this stuff!
Picasso Marble - beautiful stuff, and also all blue!!
Dumortite - never seen this before, but it's got little copper colored specks in it
Chipboard Ryolite - very interesting... it's pink to blood red, and very hard
Pink Lady/Rainbow Obsidian - Tony sent me 2 big pieces of this... can't tell the rainbows, so I'll definitely be making a cab soon:
Varigated Tigereye - had no idea these came in so many colors!! Tony's is also chantoyant and patterned all over:
Utah Obsidian - it looks like snowflakes... but the gold streaks in it look like sheen when you turn it side to side when wet... as in gold reflective in streaks (almost chantoyant looking). Have to cab it to tell, but this is really interesting stuff!!!
Cathedral Agate - not sure this is right... I don't see any cathedrals (rounded top matrix), but it is beautiful, with a wide variety of patterns (block and lines) and deep plumes inside!:
Nevada Wonderstone - look at the RED on this:
Owyhee Blue Opal specimen rock:
Polka Dot agate - after seeing Daniel's polka dot, the pattern isn't as defined, so this is the misty moonlight version, and Daniel's is the sunny day version of Polka Dot agate:
Montana Pet Wood - beautiful striping!
Morrisonite - every color in this piece but blue!!
Huge Owyhee rock (with brontosaurus:P) I showed a photo of in the Buy and Sell section earlier:
And look at these cute snakeskin agates!!!
Tony's doesn't talk much, but boy, does he have a lot of beautiful slabs, and he sure knows how to pick rocks!!!
