Ha ha, yeah, this is from 2012. I put a link back to this old post (because of photos of dead animal parts for sale in Quartzsite) in the "Some may call me a rat but..... Pics included" thread by earthdog. Indiana had wondered what people do with dead bird parts...
Dredging up the past a little. That's okay, lots of new people on here now that might enjoy them. Quartzsite is timeless!

Nice to go down memory lane once in a while. Unfortunately I think Quartzsite is dying out. This year I saw even fewer visitors than last year even at the RV show and Pow Wow. Some have said the exchange rate for Canadians kept them away this year. The main event isn't even an event anymore with very few vendors. Desert gardens had less vendors too and so did Tyson Wells. The rv parks in town weren't full even during the main shows. There are less food vendors thanks to the health department harassment and more are probably going to close up for good after this season. It has been declining for the last few years and has seemed to continue to decline this year. It is sad to see and I hope things turn around but it's not looking good for Quartzsite, Arizona.

I hope the dead animal/old carcass comments didn't include my picture. It seemed the Pow Wow was well attended but our sales were down 25% from last year. Tucson down 30%. Obviously less attendees at Tucson. Lack of Canadians, election year, low oil prices keeping heating oil low, economy, who knows?

A lot of new members here, thought I'd dig up another old thread for your enjoyment and approval (and some people's confusion, lol).
In case ya missed it, here's a link to the trip report for Quartzsite in Jan 2015. As I recall it was a pretty fun trip. Still kicking myself that we didn't make it in 2016 .
This report is mrrockpickers' first ever thread! I think he did a pretty good job (well, he had help, you know?). I am responsible for the photos.
