Randy I am so sorry please evacuate your house and get the Hazmat team in there A.S.A.P. LOL Yes, true Marcasite will when exposed to air start a gradual decomposition which will take decades. As this material is very old stock and had no signs of an odor of sulfur there should be no worry of decomposition. However here is an article which will give a thorough understanding as to the characteristics of true Marcasite. lol funny !!! BUT what if it WAS MARCASITE and someone was wearing it as a pendant and breathing in sulfuric acid under there chin for years ..even in ten years ..point made .. but iam still laughing ..
