I too resisted. I wouldn’t even consider joining the the service
I think it was the biggest mistake of my life
God know I could have used the discipline
and it would have helped
(or even avoided) some of the later messes
I got my self involved in
Or course, it could have gone the other way too.
But I think it would have helped with discipline,
stronger backbone & the benefits would also be helpful.

I made it 8 years in the Air Force with 2 tours in Vietnam. Got skipped over by a coffe drinker with his nose up th CO's a$$, so I got out. Have never regreted it.

My sister in-law Kathy (who just left our house today to go back home after flying out for Devin's Senior Graduation) just retired from the Navy after 23.5 years. She was a Senior Chief (E-8) and now she is working for the DIA.
