Susan,
I think gravel in CA will be pretty much all granite ground up or river gravel. Unless you buy the white quartz or other colored mixes. Shouldn't matter much where you buy it.

Susan, Tracy from Searchers turned me on to some really neat small stones. I think it's called Salmon Bay gravel. I run them through all the cycles. They carry grit well and shine up like little white, yellow and orange jewels. They are sold in 50 pound bags for under $20. The place I bought them is in HB on Goldenwest across the street from the big park. Maybe split a bag?
