"Gary Green" looks close, I google imaged that and there seems to be some rough that matches ours. The subtle off greens look about right from most of the examples I saw.
I have started cutting small heels of all the rough and then I give a "can shine" to half the piece to help identify the rocks. I think this one is just drying as we speak, I will grab a pic when its done.
Thanks for the help!

Carleton - Your piece looks a lot like some Kaleidoscope jasper I have.
Great entries everybody! Now, if I can get some decent pics I should have one to enter.

My turn. Thought I would add some blue. Sodalite has always been one of my Favorite stones. The slabette The preform. It was going to be an oval but I changed my mind at the last minute The cab. Pic was taken outside in early morning light. Thought I had cleaned off all the dust. I was mistaken.

Well it has been a while since I got to do some cabs, and with the Frankenstorm approaching I thought I better start grinding before we loose power or worse. LOL So with what could become my last chance to cab for a while here is my entry for the October KKC. It is Amy Sage. As my light box has been packed away the pictures were taken right off the cab machine with a point and shoot Hope you all like it. Best of luck everyone, and to all those effectd by the storm. BE SAFE!!! Stu THE SLAB THE PREFORM THE CAB

Finally finished one up, I would love to share what it is, but I have no idea ;D It worked like a Jasper, seems like it is around the same hardness as well. Rough: Preform: Cab: Thanks for looking, Carleton Very cool cab - it is Banded Slate . Glad this is still going. i hope to have time to get in next month . Cool cabs everyone .

Glad to see more entries trickle in! Nice collection of entries, going to be a close race I think. Dad ohs, haha, you got it, kinda That was my exact thoughts when I first saw the material, I have always been a huge fan of the special forces tiger stripe, jungle style. I thought the Kambaba Jasper might have yielded the look, but I like this a bit better, just needs some black. Stonewizard, thanks for the lead, more to look into Tandl, That would make sense too, it came from the same batch of the other banded slate we received. It did seem to work a bit harder and take a better shine than the other slate. Nicer to work. Carleton
