That sounds so interesting James!!! I'm really excited to go check it out very soon!!!
What I find so refreshing is your willingness to share and talk about it so precisely! There's so much information you just cannot get from books or online, and your openness definitely makes people more interested and excited about the rocks!
Will let you know how the adventure goes next week:)!!

There is a book giving locations for'silicified coral' around Florida. It is county by county.i will find it.I found it.I need it for this week.Headed back to Withlacoochee and Suwanee before the wet season starts. Here it is-'The Southeastern Quadrant' ISBN 0-06-096131-7.Great for central Florida.Punctured a vein today from flying fragment of coral-squirted like a horror film-be careful hitting that stuff w/a hammer. Was breaking it down for tumbling. There will be some coral at the little creek.Just hope it has some quality.

My wife and i were breaking some large chunks of Savannah river agate up at the remote collection site.We were just kids 25 years ago and a fragment shot 20 feet and hit her in the leg.Tiny puncture but here comes that red stuff(spraying).Better wear protection.

I have come to the conclusion that Jim never sleeps. More trips than anybody should be allowed, more tests and results than a small army could accomplish, more photos than a paparazzi... I have even gotten emails he sent me after I went to bed. He is east coast three hours later than me.
Jamesp, go take a nap. lol
That now brings to mind an other thought. This forum has more rock photos than nasa. Does that make us all combined the "rockarazzi"?
