1/8" stainless steel ballcones are available from Rio Grande (cheaper than Kingsley North) I use 3# in a 4.5# vibe. The lubricant mixture I use is glycerin, dish soap and water. Unfortunately I ruined my complete metalsmith book this summer while remodeling and I think that's where I found the quantities used. I'm guessing about a teaspoon of glycerin and a few drops of dish soap to a qt of water. My glycerin bottle has hardly any gone. It doesn't take long, 10-30 minutes. Kingsley North sells shine brite for use with stainless steel also. Think it's about 8$. The spiders can be found at Rio also and I've used them w/great results in places that the ballcones don't reach. I bought the mix of rough to polish but have only used the polish as I didn't have any rough spots.

The ballcones could not get between the faceted stones that were too close to the bezels and also close to the 2 wires that represent the river. On this one the bezels were too close in spots and had to use the spiders also.

Nice work! I esp like the first one.
I have to ask, what is a spider? Or, did I miss something?
