What the heck at PHOTOBUCKET??? They changed things. I have the IMG scramble thingy turned off, but I no longer can "point and click" to copy the IMG. How do I copy and paste my photos from PB? Side note: Is PB becoming a FB where things get changed without obvious warning? I know in march I will be "FORCED TO ENJOY" the "NEW LOOK AND FEATURES" but they seem to be manipulating the site in preparation?

I think about a few months ago or so they tried some new stuff but you can go back to original. I just posted some pics on here the same way I have been doing them in the past. Just point your mouse over your image and the 4 little boxes will come up. I always use the last one, IMG code. Left click on IMG code and it will highlight it blue, then right click to cut image. Then go to your topic area where you want to post pic and use the paste option. You can preview post to see if its working or not before you actually send the post.
I just tried it using the new photobucket and it works the same way as the old photobucket.

Click to add title

Clyde, "shuts down" is not clear enough to offer help. Do you mean you can only get img tags for two pics and then ps stops responding, or that once you link two pics in a post, that successive links do not display on RTH? what precisely is shutting down.

I am using windows 7 on one PC, and an old dinosaur XP in the back room. This is wierd. IF I DON'T log on, and I am at my PUBLIC view album, I can copy and paste normally. Problem is that I have to juggle my public and private folders, and with PB...OMG... "Hi I'm mr. P.I.T.A." If I DO log on, my album changes... I.E. logged on I don't get a drop down when I hover over the thumbnail. Well, since my pics are on disc, and HD, I may have to go to another photo-share site. Does RTH support any other photo sites?

rth support question makes no sense. rth does not support any site. not how it works.
any image anywhere on web can appear on forum if its url is in img tag
so you can use any service (or your own server) that gets you a url for each uploaded pic
since your problem occurs when logged in, check your account settings. also look to see if album view/organize changes when you log in

When I tried the new PB format I had to open each photo from the album individually before I got the url info for copying and pasting, then go back to the album and select the next pic, and so on. Takes about twice as long to do the same thing. I wonder if after we are all herded onto the new PB if they won't come up with PB+, a pay service that will work remarkably like the current PB. Kinda like Amazon "prime".

Lee, when in ORGANIZE view, you can cntrl-click multiple images, or shift-click a range, and then click LINK icon in bottom menu bar. this gets the bulk linking codes.

i think the browse/upload may use java plugin. make sure you have latest version.
also, since browse comes up in a new window, make sure you do not have pop-up blocked. try holding cntl when clicking browse button, or right-click browse button and ask for new tab.

Thanks, Daniel. As soon as they force me to "upgrade" I'll try it. Why not just leave it alone? So their engineers just have to keep tweaking it even when nothings wrong.

Still cant figure it out. When I hold cntl when clicking browse it just opens up another window and in the new window it still doesnt do anything when I click on browse. Also I turned off pop up blocker, still did the same thing. Still wont do anything when I click on browse. Also downloaded the latest version of java. Nothing I tried the drag photo option also but when I drag it into the box it just opens up the photo. Everything worked fine until I changed over to the new photobucket. Im still working on it.

A guy on another board mentioned this same "nothing happens" problem.
Important information would be if you could upload to a different photobucket account, and whether someone with a different computer could upload to your account.
Maybe the 1st thing to try is different browsers. What browser are you using. I have god results with FireFox on Windows 7 home version.

Lee, it is the mobile market, and the social network sites.
Users are demanding photo hosting that can serve up different resolutions depending on the device the request comes form, and/or can be embedded in sites like facebook, or advanced sharing like the new "stories" that compile pictures from multiple photobucket accounts (users) into one view.
If they don't provide these services, they will not be competitive. The trick is to implement them with as few tech glitches as possible and with as little pushback from users as possible.
I am actually surprised that they are not supporting views/collections that folks with wireless digital frames can subscribe to, or collections that can upload/receive new pictures by email. For example, folks want to be able to send new pics right to grandma's digital photo frame so there is no need to open and view attachments. Hosting sites that can support these diverse ways of loading/storing/retrieving images from the cloud will survive and the others will die out.
It is really amazing how much they provide for free. I mean google give free email, but use content of emails to target ads. Photobucket is not able to use content of images to target ads. I am really not sure how photobucket is monitized, except for the premium accounts.

I'm not experiencing any of the problems with PhotoBucket you describe, but I have a couple times encountered problems with my Java installation. The solution is to first uninstall it altogether (Control Panel - Programs - Uninstall), then go to the Java site and reinstall it (AKA a "clean install): www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp?locale=enJava still needs to be enabled in your browser for it to work correctly though: www.java.com/en/download/help/enable_browser.xml If you can't get PhotoBucket to work after that, it's not likely you're having a problem with Java.
