KCC for the month of April 2013!
Sorry for the delay!
Rules:
Nothing has changed,
Entries are not required to be started in the time frame of the contest, only finished by the deadline. All entries however will still require a photo of the slab, preform and finished cab. So no cabs pulled from the drawer.
Things like intarsias, carvings, jewelry, and composite type cabs can not be entered in an effort to keep the contest somewhat fair by just entering free form style cabs.
Again, please remember to include a pic or two of the original slab, then a pic of the preform, and finally, the finished cab.
We ask that all entries submitted to this contest be unique to the RTH version of the Killer Cab Contest. I will do my best to monitor the other forums for duplicate entries, and any duplicates will be disqualified.
You can enter any shape cab and your choice of mineral.
Feel free to share with us what ever you like about the material, the process or what ever else you would like to share.
Cabs posted here are only for the contest.
We will be sponsoring this months contest again, with... you guessed it, some good quality Labradorite.
If anyone would like to sponsor any months contest, please feel free, we are not trying monopolize that, lol, its just fun to to get a prize, so when there is no sponsor we will keep doing our best to get the winner some material
Good Luck everyone!

At Quartzsite this year I found this slab. I bought it just for the part that I marked out on it. It reminded me of a meteor falling Here is the preform The finished cab

Great cab Gary. Picture Jaspers are my fav. There like natures inkblots. Whenever I'm cutting them I think of the Forrest Gump box of chocolates line.
Thanks Krystee. Amber is a great gem to wear to a nightclub. Once the black lite is on, everyone lookin.

Whahhh,..... two perfect cabs.
Like the amber for its color-change, perfect cut and clean appearance.
But also admire the impeccable layout of the Jasper. The lay-out is just perfect and your overall work too.

OK... Here goes. My entry for April is a Polish Flint cab that I've been trying to get done all month and finally had the chance to today! I didn't think I had a picture of the slab but thankfully, I had saved one in Photobucket. So, for all the times I have cursed it, I'm glad it was there because I really wasn't looking forward to digging through my old laptop to find this photo! Anyway, the slab. I used the drawing tool to indicate where the cab came from on this... The preform... And the cab! Hope this works as Photo Bucket has been giving me problems of late! Good luck to all and thanks for reminding me, Gary!
