Well, I was cutting pinolith & a little seraphanite before the chrysocolla so that started the mess. The chrysocolla just topped it off real good.

I would be careful cutting those with oil. I've ruined some nice rock over the years staining with oil.

Thanks, John, I already noticed my pinolith is darker. Have it soaking in real soapy water now.

It varies, some pieces are a solid 5 other material that is more of the pure chrysocolla are more like a 4

This one piece I would place the hardness around 4.5-5 & a very solid piece.
