I want to make sure that you see this, it's a piece of the hypersthene that you sent me a while back. You were right, it's tricky to work but it was so worth it!! I've got enough left for 5 more cabs too, gonna wrap them in silver....

They are beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing them wrapped; it should be quite a combo.

Killer material and KILLER CABS! I've never heard of Hypersthene before. Is it kind of like Psilomelane?

Thanks y'all! Krystee- it reminds me more like black tigereye but it'll flake if you're not careful when cutting and grinding it. I went lightly on everything, cut slow and grind slow and it work's out fairly easy this way. It you go heavy on the wheels it'll be a chipped up mess. lol

Randy that is one bad a** cab! You lined it up just right. I have seen a handful of these cabs that were nice and this is the best one hands down.

WOW yes supper cool and haven't seen anything like it. With cleavage perfect on that material is there a problem with cabbing? I have problems faceting with materials with perfect cleavage, like Kunzite

This stuff tends to chip easily in areas of fibers all going in the same direction. It's not really crumbly, but close. The toughest was preforming without breaking pieces from it, I had to cut really slow. Next was getting through the coarse wheel on the genie, I had to go super-light to the touch on that one. After that, everything else was a little bit easier.
