Scott, I'm so proud of you, that must've been terribly hard to not buy a single rock! I brought home three rocks yesterday from the club's picnic and silent acution. Two I bought - a red jasper, maybe from Lavic, and a cool green chunk of rock bigger than a softball, that has stripes in it. Someone thought maybe morrisonite? Anyway 50 cents for the jasper, $2.50 for the green one. And then the third one is a partial thick slab of something that was given to me.
Didn't catch any fish, did more socializing this time. Jean

Truth be told, the only thing that tempted me was a couple of mushroom nodules of Howlite and a really very nice "1/4" log of rainbow wood. But at $1 a pound a 400# stump wasn't very attractive.
Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Lots of people fininding what they wanted/needed/covetted....
Paul, it was great to chat with you too. Let's do Lavic!
Jean $3 for a few rocks works for me. I only had $1.50 in my pocket!

Scott, I know you wanted that 400 pound stump. Great meeting you, Paul and Dan. I grabbed about 25 pounds of material. Thinking that I had a better eye for for those "special" rocks. When I got home to put away the bucket I had just purchased, I came across a bucket from the last time I was at Paramount. Yep, almost the same rock. same sizes. I ended up making smaller rocks with the hammer the rest of the day. It was fun to meet up with some fun people.

Thanks Bill! I need to go to a Kings game next season. The one hockey game I saw in the past was one of the funnest nights ever. I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out!

We only had a chance to do that once and my AC Compressor died on the way out. Fortunately, it was only about 85 degrees on that trip. The side benefit: I got really outstanding gas mileage without the compressor. LOL. Maybe we can grab a few other SoCal folks and do a field trip and lunch.

Wow, that's strange - the quote was there in the preview box, but went away when it posted. Just now, I put this - "I am going to convert my steel cutoff saw into an oil cooled diamond chop saw. If I stay home I can fabricate a stand for my chop saw." into the quote box, saw it in the preview, then it went away when it posted as well.
So, Scott, Is that what you were answering yes to?
I guess there's still a few bugs to get worked out, but it's looking better all the time! Jean

I thought Jean was talking about the transformation from Chameleon Scott to Regular Scott. Sort of like Wolverine ... but more colorful.

Let me know what weekend you're thinking about if you guys get serious about this. After 'almost' making it down there a couple of weeks ago I've been thinking a lot about it and what better time than to meet up with some fellow hounds from RTH.
