This was cut from a chunk that I received from Tony (catmandewe), I wish that I was motivated enough to do more of them today but I was too lazy. lol

Wow that is pretty special! Randy, when you slab that Davis creek material are their little gas bubbles in it? I pulled out some beautiful rainbow obsidian I got from an e-bayer, Mexican material I think, and it seems to have tiny bubbles in some of it. Really want to try to do a cab like you folks have done but I don't know if the bubbles are a typical problem encountered with this material or if the seller sent me junk not worth trying to cab....Mel

I haven't found any bubbles, fractures or any other imperfections at all in any of this stuff, it's a real pleasure to work with. I've only slabbed a small portion of the 80 pounds that I received from him, I can only imagine what's waiting for me in the rest of the load and I received it right on time (beginning of the summer)

Super nice material you got there and the cut is outstanding. While I personally stay away from OB, I do love seeing the pictures showing all that it has to offer.

Super cab! You almost got a catseye effect in that cab. Tiny bubbles are very rare in the Davis Creek material. Bob

Whoo Hoo!!!!!
Bobby, I've never seen bubbles in ob before in any variety. What types have bubbles? The only thing I find is those odd white tubular inclusions that poke through and frustrate me to no end but even they are far and few between and I only seem to get a few of them per year. (I've learned to cut around them when I see them in the slab)

Beautiful cab Randy! I really like the effect
Mel, some of the Davis Creek that is very close to the edge of the flow has some air bubbles in it, but there is so much very good material that most of the other stuff gets tossed over the side with the dirt, that is why you rarely see Davis Creek material with air bubbles in it.

Super nice, Randy! I've been an obsidian fool lately after Krystee turned me on to velvet, and I've been cutting and grinding the heck out of all kinds of ob. The stuff is a constant pleasure, and expresses in so many ways. Better get cracking as 80 lbs is a lot of rock to cut, lol. T

Thanks! Tony, on top of the 80 pounds I have more than 20 pounds of gold sheen, midnight lace and some more rainbow that I received from Krystee. She was actually the reason that I ordered the 80 pounds from Catmandewe. I never could pass up a deal like that one.
